Advocacy
The Yasu Embassy, raises awareness, offers support and serves those who have experienced:
- Domestic Violence and
- Families raising children who are mentally and physically disabled
Domestic Violence
Enduring and/or Surviving Domestic Violence, which includes being verbally and emotionally abused, controlled and mentally manipulated is something many people face from day to day. It is difficult to see God in it, let alone to even recognize that you are a victim at all. Often, it comes to the light when it is almost too late.
Yasu has recognized her purpose to be a voice and an advocate to raise awareness about Domestic Violence, and she has addressed it being a Woman (Person) of Faith.
Her album, The Imitation of Life, begins to address some of the issues she faced during the years she went through DV.
Special Needs Children
Being the Mother of a child with Special Needs, Yasu was compelled to enter into Healthcare, specifically working with people who have Moderate to Severe Developmental Disabilities.
She is dedicated to providing support and advocacy to families who are experiencing the same thing, and going deeper to address the denial, fear and guilt many parents face when they receive the news that their child has a developmental delay or disability.
